COMPARISON OF INTERNATIONAL HEALTH CARE COSTS

The U.S. spends twice as much as other industrialized nations on health care, $7,129 per capita. We have always spent more than other nations but as you can see from the chart below our fragmented financing system has failed to control costs compared to these other countries who cover their entire populations.

2005 OECD health expenditure statistics. Once again USA is the most expensive per capita ($6,401 in 2005) yet does not cover 15% of our population. All other countries cover 100% of their populations.
