Someone else had tried to create a festive air in
Summerland at the Memorial Park.

Our OneCareNOW booth was a few blocks away, bordering
the Post Office. An accident on Highway 101 blocked traffic so
that people were exiting and taking the frontage road, right past
our banners. So we not only had the last minute postal visitors
viewing our signs, but half of the
north bound 101 freeway traffic as well.

Peter was joined by Art Levin, a "snow bird"
from Canada, who would never want to see his Canadian Medicare
become like the U.S. system. We got some petition signatures,
some "thumbs up" from drivers going by, and one woman
who shouted "Look - I have your bumper sticker on my car".
