The
Greenbrae event took place at The Tamalpais, a retirement home well-known
as the tallest building in Greenbrae, if not in all Marin County.
The event was co-sponsored by the League of Women Voters and organized
by Bea Brown, assisted by her husband Mark.
Esther Wanning, Director of Health Care for All-CA, and Dr. Mel
Rosen, retired radiologist from UCSF, showed The Healthcare Solution
and addressed the group. Dr. Rosen spoke of how his interest in
single-payer health care had been energized when he discovered that
his own son and family were uninsured. Wanning emphasized that she
dedicates herself to this cause because she wants to live in a society
that has a health-care system and is committed to taking care of
the sick.
The audience was keenly interested and had many questions. By the
end, the majority of them had signed the OneCareNOW petition endorsing
SB 840.
