Madera OneCareNow Campaign The Madera Community Action Team has accomplished more than an event. Madera is witnessing a campaign. The campaign began on November 30th, with Donna Niell and David Lockling tabling and leafleting at the Madera Tractor of Lights parade. We cooperated with Kathy Eisele of the Madera Democratic Party in hosting a wine-tasting table at Cuppa Joes on the parade route, where we parked our poster-board display. Donna and David collected about 70 signatures of parade watchers, almost everyone they asked. On February 3rd, Devin Carroll joined Donna and David as guests on the Marc Scalzo radio show, on KPFT 790am, our local Air America affiliate. We talked to Marc and answered questions from callers for an hour, and put in a plug for our upcoming events in Madera. Friday afternoon on February 16th was our “official” OneCareNow event, a rally and march from 4:30 to 5:30 in the afternoon. We met at the office of the Madera Unified Teachers Association, and also had support from California School Employees Association, California Nurses Association, Peace Fresno, and other allies.
