Press ReleaseTo: Tulare ADVANCE REGISTER, Event: Public Education Forum - Universal Health Care Date: Saturday - Feb 17, 2007 Time: 1:00-3:00 p.m. Our Goal: Full CARE for LESS: This is how it can be done: 1) Establish one non-profit insurance plan to reduce administrative costs. 2) Provide reliable, quality coverage for all Californians. 3) Create a health-focused administrative system. 4) Improve the business climate by controlling health care costs. FACTS and DATA: SB840, submitted by Senator Kuehl, allows you to choose your own doctor(s) for a comprehensive care plan. The Bill also provides for an elected Commissioner of Health, a Health Policy Board to establish equitable fee schedules and a Network of Consumer Advocates to identify and help solve local service problems. The California Health Trust (a non-profit administration) will make all payments for service, and all data from providers will be funneled to one location for maximum efficiency and fraud prevention. All California employers will pay an affordable health insurance premium and all employees will also contribute their fair share to premiums. No out-of-pocket costs for deductibles, and no exclusions for pre-existing conditions.
