We had about 50 folks show up…school
employers/employees and school board members, members from the community
and small business. Susanville is a conservative community and we
got them thinking about healthcare in the right direction.
The local folks had punch, coffee and homemade baked goods. It
was a real Town Hall Forum. We were able to isolate the small business
owner. Before we left, the community was saying to him, “everyone
has to pay their fair share!” Now, we need to find a place
to plug him into.
In a nutshell, we showed the DVD, and and a powerpoint presentation,
passed out the cost savings sheets for school districts in that
community. The local newspaper reporter attended. He asked for the
DVD (which I provided for him), and I have emailed the Lewin report
to him. All in all, it was a great forum that the CSEA Board member
who attended wants to model in her area.
