DEMOCRATS OF HEMET-SAN JACINTO TO HOST HEALTHCARE
FOR ALL REPS FROM HCA-CALIFORNIA
Representatives from Healthcare for All-California will address the Democrats of Hemet-San Jacinto on Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at 5:30 PM in the La Casa Vieja Restaurant, 828 West Florida Avenue in Hemet. Dinner is $10 and includes your drink and tip.
The public is invited to attend this informative presentation concerning
State Senator Sheila Kuehl’s healthcare bill, SB840.
The DEMOCRATS OF HEMET-SAN JACINTO sponsored the
July 10 OneCareNOW event at the their monthly meeting held at
La Casa Vieja Restaurant in Hemet. Thirty nine persons attended,
both members and non-members of the organization. After a pleasant
dinner, Peter and Paulina Conn of the Santa Barbara Chapter of
Health Care for All? (HCA) provided the audience with some background
information about HCA and the One Care NOW Campaign.
Many names were entered on the OneCareNOW petition
sheets and most people took SICKO fliers and other information
sheets. Several took a supply of materials to share with other
groups or friends.
There was a long question and answer period after
seeing the video. Only one person in the? audience had seen SICKO,
so the video provided a good introduction to the health care issue.
The person who had seen SICKO gave it a glowing revue and mentioned
that the audience applauded at the end, a rare occurance at movies.
In the Hemet area, SICKO is currently playing in Riverside and
Temecula.
