Harvest Festival
The date for
our event, Sept. 23, coincided with the popular annual Harvest
Festival in our part of San Luis Obispo County, so we celebrated
by getting a booth at the festival and appealing to the people
attending. We had three or four people manning the booth at all
times and lured people in with our smiles, fortune cookies (with
special universal health care-related fortunes) and the DVD playing
continuously. The petition was signed by about 32 people. Finally
most people are aware of the bill and mostly supportive of it;
even 3 or 4 months ago, this was not the case.
