On September 27, 2006, the Sanger
OneCareNow team canvassed house-to-house in several parts of the
city, letting people know about the single payer health insurance
bill that the Governor vetoed (SB 840) and collecting signatures
on the OneCareNow petition. A strong majority of residents who heard
about SB 840 thought it was a great idea, and they expressed frustration
that the Governor had vetoed the bill. Many people wanted extra
petitions--which we gladly gave them--to collect signatures from
their friends. This was just the first of several events we'll be
holding in Sanger in the months ahead. |
