On Labor Day, the Camarillo Community Action
Team (CAT) seized an
opportunity to have a "second" 365 Event other than it's
pre-scheduled 2007
Event. It piggy-backed onto another event held at Freedom Park in
Camarillo: the Labor Day Picnic of the Ventura County Democratic Committee.
The CAT set out to hand out letters to the Governor to sign SB840.
Success!
All letters brought to the Event were eagerly received with promises
to sign
and send the letters to the Governor.
At least three hundred present and the CAT made personal contact
with many
of the attendees. In addition, the CAT met with Oxnard Mayor Tom
Holden and
placed a call to the Governor's office to register a yes vote for
the bill!
