UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE ADVOCATES COME TO SOUTH LAKE TAHOE
The OneCareNow Campaign supporting Single Payer Universal Heath Care was in South Lake Tahoe Sunday, November 5, 2006. Bob Vizzard and Randy Hicks of Sacramento Valley Health Care for All held a large banner on South Lake Tahoe Blvd. and urged passing Tahoe residents to support a Universal Health Care Bill, such as SB 840 which passed the California Senate and Assembly this year, only to be vetoed by the Governor. They explained that such a plan would cover every Californian with full benefits and cost billions of dollars less than we now spend.

"How can that be?" one passer by asked.

"Simple, because it gets rid of the waste and high profits of the private insurance companies and the drug companies," answered Dr. Vizzard, an emergency physician from Placer County.

"Go to ONECARENOW.org where it is all explained," added Randy Hicks a well known Sacramento advocate for disabled persons.

Health care advocates are available to discuss single payer universal health insurance with your group and show the 22 minute DVD, "The Healthcare Solution: California OneCare." Contact Carolyn Negrete at cnegrete@comcast.net or Bob Vizzard, M.D. at 916-663-1739.
