Weight Loss Foods To Avoid If You Want To Slim Down

weight loss foods to avoidIf you want to lose weight you should take a close look at the food in your spoon before you take another bite! Many people think that they can start exercising and the fat will simply melt off. However, this is not the case and the most important factor when it comes to losing weight is your diet. Weight loss is 75% diet and 25% exercise, so make sure you address your eating habits before even thinking about joining a gym. After all, I’m certain you don’t want to waste your time!

One of the small problems that many people face is that they simply don’t know what foods to eat in order to lose weight and what foods they should avoid. This is mainly due to the fact that our supermarkets are filled with so many different types of foods and knowing what is healthy and unhealthy can be quite difficult. However, don’t worry as we will now be covering some of the top foods you should stay away from if you want to lose weight.

The first food on our black list is of course, sweet treats. This includes all candy bars, cakes, pastries, chocolates and basically anything in the snacks section of the grocery. These foods contain extremely high amounts of sugar and a tiny serving contains hundreds of calories. As a result, if you love candy bars and other sweets, you will probably end up eating many of them in order to feel full and you would have probably consumed a few thousand calories easily. As a result, you have to drop these sweet treats if you want to drop the pounds.

Next, you should definitely avoid any soft drinks and even most fruit drinks. Soft drinks are full of sugar which actually prevent your body from burning fat since it simply uses and stores these sugars. In order for your body to be in a fat burning mode, you definitely need to drastically cut down on how much sugar you consume. Soft drinks and fruit juices are quite deceptive because they seem like they don’t contain much sugar. However, if you pay attention to the labels, you will see that they contain many tablespoons of sugar per serving!

Another type of food that you should stay away from are all processed foods. This is basically the majority of the supermarket and you can determine if a food is processed or not by whether they come in a box, pack or can. If the food didn’t come from the earth or didn’t have a mother: Don’t eat it! In order to lose weight quickly, you should try to eat as clean as possible and by cutting out processed foods, you will definitely see a huge drop on the scale.

Next, we will look at alcohol. Many people love their alcoholic beverages and many think nothing of a few glasses of wine per day or a few cans of beer. Unfortunately, alcohol is extremely high in calories and even though you may think you’ve had a relatively small amount of alcohol, you can easily go over your daily caloric limit. Also, if you want to avoid having a beer belly and finally get that six pack abs, you definitely need to ditch the beer!

So, with all these foods being avoided, you may find yourself thinking, what can you eat? Well, you should definitely stock up on lots of vegetables such as spinach, carrots, broccoli, lettuce, kale, squash, pumpkin, tomatoes, string beans etc. These vegetables are extremely high in fiber, vitamins and minerals while being low in calories. You can eat as much of these as you want so you’ll never go hungry. You can also eat lots of lean meats such as chicken breast, turkey, beef, fish etc. These foods are full of valuable protein and are typically quite low in fat.

In conclusion, when it comes to weight loss, it isn’t that difficult. All you have to do is stick to your vegetables and lean meats while ignoring the rest of the supermarket and you will be dropping weight in no time. Of course, it’s all a matter of willpower, so the real question you should be asking yourself is: How badly do you want to lose weight? If you really want to drop the fat, then no sacrifice is too much!
