To use tea tree oil for herpes, you will need to have 100% natural oil, a cotton ball and an eye dropper. The essential oil will generally come with the eyedropper which you use to apply a small amount of oil to the cotton ball. You should then dab the affected area using the cotton ball and leave this on. The oil will need to be applied 3 times a day and will not only help the sores clear, it will also reduce some of the pain you feel.

Using Oregano Oil

Many people do not think about oregano when they want to treat herpes, but the carvacrol in the oil has antiviral properties. This remedy has been proven to work on many viruses including herpes viruses that have developed a resistance to acyclovir. This is the most commonly used antivirus treatment. The oil also offers anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties.

To use oregano oil for herpes, you will need to have the natural oil, a cotton ball and an eye dropper. You should apply 1 to 2 drops of the oil to the cotton ball and then dab the affected area. You will need to reapply the oil 2 to 3 times a day until the sores have subsided. It is important that you allow the oil to dry on the affected area and do not try to remove it before this.

Using Baking Soda For Herpes

If you have herpes sores that are oozing, this might be the best home remedy for you to consider. Baking soda will help dry them up because it dries the skin around the sores as well. Baking soda is also an antiseptic and will soothe the affected area.

To use baking soda for this, you will need a tablespoon of baking soda, 2 or 3 tablespoons of water and some cotton balls. You need to mix the baking soda in the water to create a solution and soak the cotton balls in this. You will then have to gently rub the cotton balls on and around the sore. It is important that you do not wash the solution away and use a different cotton ball for each application to avoid any further infections. The solution should be applied 3 to 4 times per day.

Drinking Echinacea Tea

Echinacea offers antiviral properties that the herpes virus is susceptible to. The effect of this tea will be indirect as it helps the body produce a strong antiviral attack. To use Echinacea tea for the symptoms of herpes, you will need to sip on it between meals, but not have more than 4 cups per day.

To make this tea, you will have to get Echinacea tea bags or the dried herb. If you are using the dried herb, you will need to have a teapot with a strainer. The tea should steep for a few minutes before you remove the herbs or tea bag.
